The unit is powered via a cable; the specific control module depends on the manufacturer. This is important for customers because it creates a clear distinction between passive mobility provided by the skeleton and active movement enabled by technology. At the same time, there are several practical considerations regarding robotics: Each individual feature can add weight (3.5 kg); many options require an adapter for European outlets; and the connections must be protected from water during cleaning. It should also be noted that no warranty or guarantee is provided for the robotic system, and it does not have EU certification. The electric hip is thus an intensive additional feature, but one that is clearly associated with technical limitations and maintenance requirements.
