Stains and How to Treat Them
Stains are a real everyday concern, especially when dark or new clothing is in direct contact with the skin for extended periods. Stain treatment should therefore always begin as gently as possible: with mild cleaning using paraffin-free baby oil (Penaten Baby Oil is particularly suitable), patience, and a careful approach using a microfiber cloth to dab the area instead of aggressive household cleaners. If the stains are more deeply embedded and causing discoloration, we recommend rubbing the aforementioned oil generously into the affected area, applying baking soda, and letting it sit for 24 hours. Repeat this process as often as necessary until the discoloration has disappeared. In practice, it’s therefore best to avoid problematic substances from the start and to act quickly at the first sign of a stain.
What should you look out for?
A common mistake is using cleaners that are too harsh, alcohol, or scrubbing too hard. Both can cause additional damage to the surface and color. It’s better to take a gradual, gentle approach and avoid wearing clothes that might bleed color right from the start.
