Pivot Adapter

On one side of the pivot adapter is an Allen screw that can be turned in or out to adjust the tightness of the head. This side is inserted into the head. The other side has a threaded section and is screwed into the neck or body. More modern pivot adapters also feature a ball joint in the center to allow for quick and easy movements, such as tilting the head.
