The COVID-19 pandemic has cancelled hundreds of events worldwide. To protect public health, everything from large events like football matches and concerts to birthdays and smaller gatherings has been cancelled or postponed.
But the unusual doesn't end there. Yuri Tolochko, a Russian bodybuilder and actor, gained popularity last year by marrying his Real Doll .
In December 2020, Yuri announced that after an eight-month relationship, he had decided to marry his Real Doll . His relationship with Margo, the doll's name, is documented on Yuri's Instagram account with numerous photos and videos.
The relationship brought the bodybuilder great popularity and led to several interviews and numerous television appearances. In these interviews, Yuri was always very serious about the relationship and insisted on a respectful approach to his proclaimed love.
Last year, in one of his numerous interviews, he said he had undergone plastic surgery on his wrist because Margo had started to develop a complex. Yuri had to adapt. “You should always find compromises within a marriage (...)”
Reactions on social media regarding the marriage were very mixed. There were many insults attacking Yuri, while others congratulated him on his relationship.
