Today, scientific studies and research increasingly demonstrate how crucial the expression of one's sexuality is for our overall well-being. It is a central element of our lives. It subconsciously influences our everyday lives, promotes joy, and improves quality of life throughout all years of life. At the same time, we are witnessing a paradoxical development: While sexuality is being discussed more and more openly, increasingly presented studies and statistics indicate that we are experiencing fewer and fewer intimate relationships.

In one hand, we hold scientific studies and research results that demonstrate how important a fulfilling sexuality is for our overall well-being. It increases our joy in life and has a positive impact on our quality of life well into old age. In the other hand, however, we see alarming statistics: Although sexuality is increasingly being discussed openly and we talk about desires and inclinations, we are demonstrably having less and less sex. Our sexual self-development is often limited to our own selves.

Why is that?
The advancing digitalization makes it easier to hide behind screens. Social media distorts the perception of interpersonal relationships and makes real encounters more difficult. At the same time, more and more people are striving for individual careers and financial independence, often at the expense of traditional family models and committed relationships. The result is a society in which sexuality is discussed more openly, but in practice, is increasingly less shared.
